"I have enjoyed performing with the Lake Ridge Chorus for 29 years.  I have served as Show Chairman, Costume Chairman & Bass Section Leader!  Music is one of those hobbies where one is continually learning, no truer this year, as my first year as an Assistant Director. It has been indeed an added joy."

Director Emeritus Jean Knight

Lake Ridge announces the retirement of our wonderful director and friend Jean Knight. She is now having terrific time singing with us on the risers and has been deemed our Director Emeritus, so we still get to enjoy her directing whenever the Spirit moves her! Thank you Jean for all your dedication and hard work!

Jean has been a Sweet Adeline for 33 years. She began her barbershop experience singing tenor with a quartet from the Ashland (OH) Chorus and also directed the chorus there for a time.

In 1975, she began organizing a group of women in the Lorain County area, who had an interest in singing barbershop harmony. With help from her quartet and a few other friends, the Lake Ridge Chorus received its charter in October 1976. She considers it a great honor and privilege to have directed the chorus most of the years since that time. Jean is an approved arranger in the Sweet Adelines International Music Arrangers Program. She is also a retired elementary vocal music teacher, having worked in the Sandusky and Elyria City Schools for 29 years. Jean enjoys reading, playing the piano and traveling.
